The US Alpine National Ski Championships that were canceled last March due to Covid-19 took place last week in Copper Mountain, Colorado. Bridger Harrison, who is currently attending and racing for Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, left school several weeks early to prepare for the upcoming races. With limited time on snow compared to most of his competitors, Bridger scored a podium run in the U-21 downhill race to place 3rd just behind Tommy Ford. The downhill course started at the top of Copper mountain at 13,000 feet and was a 90 second event with speeds reaching 85 miles/hour. First and second place went to US Ski Team members Jack Smith and Isaiah Nelson. Bridger also had solid finishes in the slalom, giant slalom, and super G. Bridger who was on the Ogden Valley Ski Team grew up training at Snowbasin and Nordic Valley where both venues provided Olympic level training.
