The Snowbasin Ski Resort Competition Center and the Snowbasin Sports Education Foundation (SSEF non-profit) have partnered together and developed a pathway for young athletes to take their skiing skills to the next level if they want to. Young athletes in these programs below receive exceptional ski instruction with professional coaches and are introduced to Alpine Ski Racing and Freeride disciplines.

The Snowstars and Alpine Devo programs are administered through Snowbasin Resort Snowsports Competition Center but work in partnership with the Snowbasin Sports Education Foundation.

Below are the programs that are currently offered through the Snowbasin Ski Resort or you can learn more here:

Alpine Devo, Ages 7 – 12 (Enrollment with Snowbasin Resort Snowsports Competition Center)

  • 12 full-day Saturday sessions in conjunction with the Snowbasin Resort Snow Sports department.

  • Focus on all aspects of skiing with an introduction to racing using U.S. Ski Team methods.

  • Includes professional coaching, a Youth Premier Season Pass, lunch, SSEF membership and an official Devo ski team coat.

Devo + Learn to Race, Ages 7 – 12 (Enrollment with Snowbasin Resort Snowsports Competition Center)

  • Sunday-only for Devo athletes

  • Elevated race-specific training in a more advanced venue than NASTAR

Snowbasin Sports Education Foundation Competition Race Teams
The Snowbasin Sports Education Foundation (SSEF) is a non-profit organization who offers competitive ski racing programs for skiers ages 8 through 20, and Freeride  programs ages 10 through 18. The Alpine Ski Racing programs follows the US Ski & Snowboard pipeline for athlete development. Athletes compete in US Ski & Snowboard events through national, regional and divisional race developmental series’. The Freeride/Big Mountain program competes in IFSA (International’s Freeskiers Association) events. SSEF is a podium member of U.S. Ski and Snowboard. All programs include a team jacket.

All programs have US Ski & Snowboard professionally licensed coaches.

U10 & U12 Competition Team, Ages 8 – 11

  • Up to 4 training days/week

  • Competes in US Ski & Snowboard Divisonal ski races at other local resorts

  • Christmas Camp

  • Weekend-only programs available

 

U14 Competition Team 12 – 13 Years Old

  • Up to 6 training days/week

    • Team members are not required to train all 6 days

  • Competes in Local US Ski & Snowboard Divisional races at local resorts

  • Christmas Camp

  • Weekend-only programs available

 

U16 Competition Teams Ages 14 – 18

  • Up to 6 training days/week

    • Team members are not required to train all 6 days

  • Competes in Local US Ski & Snowboard Regional and Divisional races

  • Christmas Camp

 

U19/FIS, Ages 16 – 18

Up to 6 Days of Training

Compete in National, Regional and Divisional Races

 

Freeride Big Mountain Team

  • Athletes learn to ski competently and fluidly anywhere on the mountain.

  • Learn the fundamentals of competitive big mountain skiing with professional coaches.

  • Option to compete in regional IFSA competitions.

  • Focus on essential skiing skills, snow safety and mountain awareness.

  • Multi-program options including mid-week and weekend training.
