SKI MOUNTAINEERING

What is ‘SkiMo’?

Ski Mountaineering, also known as “SkiMo” is backcountry ski racing. A mix of the endurance of a cross-country skier, the skill & strength of an alpine skier & the mountain knowledge or backcountry touring, skiers race up & down a set course on the mountain.

This is a great winter sport for the mountain biker or trail runner who wants to stay fit over the winter! SkiMo skills would also be a great addition to current and former alpine, cross-country, all-mountain and free ride skiers.

Join one of the fastest-growing snow sports in the world. Backcountry skiing & SkiMo racing has been trending in Europe for the last 20 years and is now taking off in North America. SkiMo will officially be added as an Olympic sport in the Milan 2026 winter games!
